  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast

Directions

    Mix all ingredients in a glass or plastic container.

    Let it stand in a warm place for 48 hours.

    It may smell sour and liquid may form on top, so stir before each use.

    Use now or store it in the refrigerator, but always leave at least 1 cup starter.

    Feed once or twice a week with 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 cup milk.

    Do not use for 24 hours after feeding it.

    If you feel generous, give 1 1/2 cups plus recipe to a friend.
