- 2 c. meal
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. grease
- cold water (to make into dough)
Directions

1Sift and measure meal.

2Add salt and shortening.

3Mix into dough with cold water and let stand a minute, adding more water if necessary.

4Shape into small pones and place on hot, greased shallow pan, leaving space so they will not touch.

5Put into hot oven for 10 minutes, then reduce to medium.

6Bake 30 to 40 minutes.

7If gas oven is used, place under blaze until slightly browned, then into oven about center with moderate heat.

8Serve with vegetables.
