Soya Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 12 to 14 chicken wings, tips cut off
  • 2 green onions, fresh, sliced or chopped (use all greens) or 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. Kikkoman soy sauce
  • ginger, fresh and slivered or garlic (I use both and most of the time use ginger that I have dried)
  • 1 Tbsp. sherry or dry vermouth

    Wash and dry wings.

    Brown ginger root in salad oil.
  3. 3
    Mix other ingredients together, except wings.

    Add slowly to oil. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.

    Add wings.

    Sprinkle very lightly with salt.

    Cover and simmer until done, turning often to coat wings with sauce.

    Takes a little more than one hour.

    Serve with fried rice.
