- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
- 1 (8 oz.) container cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar thick spaghetti sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 4 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
Directions

1Cook spaghetti following label directions. Drain.

2Place in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Stir in margarine, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and egg until thoroughly combined. Spread mixture evenly in pan. Saute the ground chuck, onion and green pepper in a large skillet until meat is brown.

3Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano and garlic salt.

4Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti layer. Top with meat mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

5Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and bake an additional 10 minutes.

6Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.

7Makes approximately 8 servings.
