- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 large chopped onion
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 3/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions

1In a Dutch oven, cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender.

2Drain.

3Add next eight ingredients; bring to a boil.

4Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

5Remove bay leaf.

6Ready to serve.
