- 1 Tbsp. oil (vegetable)
- 2 lb. very lean ground beef
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. parsley, minced
- 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. oregano
- 2 Tbsp. thyme
- 2 Tbsp. basil
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1Heat oil in a skillet and add meat, garlic and onion and brown.

2Add remaining ingredients.

3Cover and simmer about 2 1/2 hours.

4Remove bay leaf before serving.
