Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can whole stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can mushrooms of 1 c. fresh mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. or more Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp. brown or granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. bay leaf or 1 fresh bay leaf

    Brown hamburger with onions and garlic.

    Drain fat.

    In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.

    Add hamburger mixture.

    Cook until hamburger is heated through.

    This recipe can be doubled or tripled and the sauce frozen or canned for future use.
