- 1 qt. tomato juice
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 c. chopped onions
- 2 c. chopped celery
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
Directions

1Place tomato juice, tomato paste and salt in large kettle. In skillet, saute pepper, onions and celery in butter or margarine; then add to mixture.

2Saute hamburger until browned; use fork to break hamburger into small pieces while browning.

3Add to tomato juice mixture.

4Add basil, oregano and garlic.

5Cover and simmer for three hours on low heat.

6Serve hot over cooked spaghetti.

7Sprinkle with grated cheese if desired.
