  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 1 lb. Italian Sweet or Hot Sausage
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 2-16oz. cans Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 2-16 oz. Cans Tomato Puree
  • 1-12 oz. Can Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon dried Oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon dried Basil
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt or beef base
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper

    Saute beef, onion until brown add garlic and spices to release flavor. Combine remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 to 4 hours. Makes about 3 quarts of sauce.
