- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 small green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
Directions

1Cook and stir rice and onion in oil in a 10-inch skillet until rice is golden brown and onion is tender.

2Stir in remaining ingredients.

3Heat to boiling; reduce heat, cover and simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.
