  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3 to 4 oz. cooked hamburger
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. tomatoes, crushed
  • 2 c. water

    Brown rice in hot oil until golden brown.

    Add onion, pepper and hamburger.

    Mix in chili powder and salt, then add tomatoes and water.

    Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or until rice is fully cooked.
