Ingredients
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. or less crushed red pepper
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 small can whole tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 c. rice
Directions

1Fry bacon

2until almost crisp.

3Add onion, green pepper and minced garlic.

4Cook until onion is clear.

5Add tomatoes, salt, sugar, soy sauce and water.

6Bring to a boil.

7Reduce heat; simmer 30 minutes.

8Add rice to mixture and bake in oven, covered, for 30 minutes or until done.

9Stir after 15 minutes in oven.

10Add water in small amounts if needed.

11Test for doneness.
