Spanish Style Bell Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 6 buttons garlic, chopped
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 6 medium bell peppers
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 pkg. Mexican cornbread mix
  • 1 small bottle chili powder
  • Cheddar cheese to garnish

Directions

    Saute in oil, chopped onion and chopped garlic until brown. Add ground meat and fry until done.

    Add 1/2 cup flour and allow to brown.

    Add chili powder and mix with meat.

    Then add tomato paste.

    Add enough water to make mixture sticky.

    Stir well.

    Salt to taste and let simmer for a few minutes until thick.

    Prepare cornbread mix according to directions.

    Bake.

    Add 1/2 of cornbread to meat mixture.

    Stuff peppers with mixture.

    Top with cheese and cook in a 350° oven until peppers are done.
