  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 to 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Orange Filling

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large mixing bowl and let stand 5 minutes.

    Add 1 cup flour and next 4 ingredients.

    Beat at medium speed with mixer until smooth.

    Stir in remaining flour to make a soft dough.

    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth (about 2 minutes).

    Cover and let stand 15 minutes.

    Roll dough into a 14 x 7-inch rectangle; spread with 1/2 of Orange Filling, leaving a 1 inch margin on long sides.

    Roll jelly roll fashion, starting at long side.

    Pinch seam.

    Cut into 12 equal slices.

    Place cut-side down in greased muffin pans. Cover and let rise in warm place, free from drafts, 30 minutes. Bake at 400° for 16 to 18 minutes.
