- 5 lb. tomatoes (small green), or large, if sliced medium thick
- 6 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
- 1 Tbsp. whole allspice
- 1 Tbsp. white mustard seed
Directions

1Wash tomatoes, but do not peel.

2If small tomatoes are used, prick them slightly.

3Combine sugar, vinegar and spices.

4Bring mixture to a boil.

5Pour mixture over tomatoes.

6Let stand 6 hours or overnight.

7Drain and cook fluid until it coats a spoon.

8Add tomatoes and cook until clear.

9Put into canning jars and seal. This can also be done with plums, pears or peaches.
