Spiced Winter Cider

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 5 cinnamon sticks, plus extra for garnish
  • 2 oranges, cut into wheels
  • 1 red apple, cored and sliced
  • 1 green apple, cored and sliced
  • 1 12 teaspoons whole cloves
  • 14 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 -1 12 ounce spiced rum (Tuaca, Captain Morgan, etc.) (optional) or 1 -1 12 ounce liqueur, per serving (Tuaca, Captain Morgan, etc.) (optional)

Directions

    In a big pot, combine the apple cider, cinnamon, fruit, cloves, and dried cranberries; bring to a boil.

    Decrease heat and simmer 8-10 minutes.

    Ladle cider (without spices and fruit) into coffee mugs and serve hot.

    If desired, add spiced rum or Tuaca to each serving.

    Garnish with cinnamon sticks.
