  • 1 cup Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate and cocoa
  • 23 cup all-purpose flour
  • 14 teaspoon baking powder
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 eggs
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 12 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 cup pecans (optional)

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.

    Grease an 8 inch sqare pan, if not using a nonstick pan.

    In a small mixing bowl, sift together the ground chocolate, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, & cayenne.

    Set aside.

    In a medium mixing bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, & vanilla extract.

    Add the melted butter.

    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, about 1/4 at a time, until combined.

    Stir in the chocolate chips & nuts (optional).

    Spread the batter evenly into the pan (the batter is pretty thick).

    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Cool the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
