Spicy Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped celery
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 c. cooked rice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1 (10 oz.) can undrained tomatoes with green chiles
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt

Directions

    Remove 10 large outer leaves of cabbage; cook in boiling salted water 5 to 8 minutes or until just tender; drain and set aside.

    Reserve remaining cabbage for other uses.

    Combine next 8 ingredients.

    Place equal portions of meat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf.

    Fold 2 opposite ends over and place rolls, seam side down, in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over cabbage rolls.

    Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
