Spicy Spareribs

  • 2 lb. spareribs
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and halved
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and halved
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp. prepared mustard

Directions

    In a 3-quart saucepan bring spareribs, water, onion and garlic to a boil.

    Cover and simmer 1 hour or until ribs are tender and starting to fall off the bone.

    Remove ribs from bones and put in a foil-lined shallow pan into which they just fit in a single layer.

    Stir together molasses, ketchup and mustard; spoon over ribs.

    Bake in a preheated 375° oven until very hot (20 to 25 minutes).
