Spinach-Pecan Bake

- 3 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 c. light cream or half and half
- 1/3 c. packaged bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 c. packaged bread crumbs
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Butter a 1 1/2-quart shallow baking dish. Cook spinach and set aside to drain.

3Melt 1/4 cup butter.

4Saute onion until tender.

5Combine spinach, onion, cream, 1/3 cup bread crumbs, pecans, salt, nutmeg and pepper in large bowl and mix. Put in baking dish.

6Melt 2 tablespoons butter and stir in spinach.

7Bake for 30 minutes.

8Serves 6 to 8.
