- 6 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 egg whites
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.

3Add water; continue beating until very thick.

4Gradually beat in sugar, then vanilla.

5Sift flour 3 times; fold in egg mixture, a little at a time.

6In another bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.

7Add cream of tartar; beat until they form moist, glossy peaks.

8Fold into first mixture, turning bowl gradually. Bake in ungreased tube pan at 325° for about 1 hour.
