- 1 cup water-ground white cornmeal
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons Royal Baking Powder
- 3 medium-sized eggs, beaten
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 18 x 8x 2-inch baking pan, or a 1 1/2-quart souffle dish

1Preheat oven to 400.

2Silt the cornmeal, salt, sugar, soda, and baking powder together into a mixing bowl.

3Make a well in the center and add the beaten eggs.

4At this time put the butter in the baking pan and set it in the oven to heat.
