Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. fat
  • 1 cut up garlic
  • 1 c. diced onion
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. uncooked rice
  • 5 to 6 c. water
  • 1 c. diced potatoes
  • 1 c. diced carrots
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 Tbsp. pepper
  • garnish with parsley

Directions

    Brown onion, garlic, fat and ground beef.

    Cook until brown. Add rice and water.

    Simmer, uncovered, 40 minutes.

    Then add potatoes and carrots.

    Continue simmering, covered, 20 minutes, until tender.

    Season with soy sauce, salt and pepper.

    Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
