Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. fat
- 1 clove garlic, cut up
- 1 c. finely diced onion
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 5 to 6 c. water
- 1 c. each finely diced carrots and potatoes
- 1 to 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Brown in fat in 10-inch skillet the garlic clove.

2Remove garlic.

3Add onion and ground beef.

4Cook until browned, stirring. Add rice and water.

5Simmer uncovered over low heat for 40 minutes.

6Add carrots and potatoes.

7Continue simmering until tender (20 minutes).

8Season with soy sauce, salt and pepper. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
