- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. mashed potato flakes
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream shortening and brown sugar.

2Add egg and vanilla.

3Mix well.

4Combine flour, baking powder, salt and potato flakes.

5Add to the shortening mixture.

6Mix well.

7Add nuts and mix.

8Batter will be stiff.

9Let set 30 minutes.

10Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.

11Bake at 375° for 10 minutes.

12Do not overbake.
