Squash Au Gratin

  • 2 lb. squash, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 1/2 c. cheese, grated
  • 1 pkg. Waverly wafers, crumbled
  • 1/2 c. Pet milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • black pepper to taste

Directions

    Boil squash in small amount of water with salt and pepper and sugar.

    Cover and cook until tender.

    Drain well and add remaining ingredients.

    Mix well and pour into buttered casserole.

    Sprinkle more grated cheese and cracker crumbs on top.

    Bake at 325° for 35 to 40 minutes.
