Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. warm water or milk
- 1 egg
Directions

1Sift first three ingredients together and stir in beaten egg. Add water or milk to make a soft dough.

2Round up on lightly floured cloth or board.

3Knead lightly.

4Roll or pat out 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut into strips about 2 x 3-inches.

6Slit the center of dough.
-
7Drop in deep fat; brown on one side, then turn over and brown the other.

8Serve with pinto beans, stew or syrup.
