- 2 to 2 1/2 c. squash, cooked and mashed
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 6 to 8 saltine crackers
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 c. mild Cheddar cheese
- 10 to 15 Ritz crackers
Directions

1After cooking and mashing squash, add half of butter, onion, crumbled saltines, sugar, salt and pepper and mix well.

2Coarsely grate (or cut into chunks) cheese and add to squash mixture.

3Pour into greased casserole dish and crumble Ritz crackers and oleo over top.

4Bake at 325° for about 30 minutes.
