Squash Casserole

- 6 to 7 large squash
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 c. cornbread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 stick melted butter
- 1 tsp. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Wash squash and slice.

2Boil squash in pan along with 1/2 cup chopped onion, sugar, salt and pepper.

3Boil for 15 to 20 minutes; drain.

4Pour squash into casserole dish.

5Mash lightly.

6Add 1/2 of cornbread, egg, 1/2 melted butter and the rest of the onions.

7Mix. Pour the other half of the cornbread crumbs on top of casserole. Pour remaining butter on top of cornbread.

8Cook for 45 minutes at 375°.
