Ingredients
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. squash, sieved
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Bring milk to boil, add shortening, sugar, salt and squash. Cool to lukewarm.

2Sprinkle yeast over warm water, after 5 minutes, add to milk mixture.

3Add 1 c. flour and beaten egg, beat until smooth.

4Add enough flour to make a soft dough.

5Mix well.

6Cover dough and let rise in warm place about 1 1/2 hours or until double in bulk.

7Punch down and let rise again.

8Turn out on lightly floured board.

9Roll 1/2 inch thick.

10Cut and shape into rolls. Place on greased baking sheet and brush with melted butter.

11Let rise about 1/2 hour.

12Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.
