  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. pickling spice, tied in a cloth
  • 8 c. squash, sliced thin
  • 2 c. onions, sliced thin
  • 4 bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 2 tsp. mustard seed
  • 2 tsp. celery seed

    let stand for 1 hour.

    Sprinkle with salt. Mix sugar and vinegar together, bring to a boil.

    until pepper changes to a dull green. Put

    into jars while hot. Seal and turn jar over on the top. Let stand for 24 hours.
