- 2 qt. onions
- 1/2 c. salt
- 5 c. sugar
- 5 c. vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 2 qt. cracked or crushed ice
- 2 tsp. mustard seed
Directions

1Wash squash.

2Slice in 1/4-inch slices.

3Peel and slice onions.

4Mix squash, onions and salt thoroughly.

5Cover with ice; let stand 3 hours.

6Drain thoroughly.
