Ingredients

  • 4 qt. sliced squash
  • 2 qt. medium onions, sliced
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 5 c. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. turmeric powder
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed

Directions

    Mix together squash, onions and salt.

    Place in pan and add 2 quarts ice.
  3. 3
    Let stand 3 hours; drain and wash in cold water. Combine remaining ingredients.

    Heat to boiling and add squash. Let come to boil again.

    Put in jars and seal.
