Ingredients

  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 7/8 cups bread flour
  • 5 1/4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry active yeast instant
  • 1 egg yolk beaten for basting
  • 1 handful nuts your choice
  • cane sugar or brown sugar

Directions

    In a stand mixer, add the 3 whole eggs, pinch of salt, and the bread flour, butter, sugar, and yeast. Connect the bread attachment and let it start kneading the dough until elastic and smooth.

    Pour the dough out onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Roughly form it into a large oval shape.

    Baste the top and sides with the beaten egg yolk. Sprinkle the handful of nuts and a generous amount of sugar on top (optional). Let rise for 1 hour.

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

    Bake the dough for 20 minutes or until it sounds hollow when tapped on top.
