  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Karo syrup
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. flavoring oil (cinnamon, peppermint, clove, etc.)
  • Food coloring (a lot) of your choice

Directions

    Heat first three ingredients to 290° with a candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Quickly add flavoring oil and food coloring. Pour onto cookie sheet that has been covered with aluminum foil. Let harden. Peel foil off. Hold one end up with one hand and break candy into small pieces with back of a spoon. Be sure to store in an air tight container.
