  • 1 can (1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lb.) beef stew
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. self-rising cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. green onion or chopped green pepper

    Preheat oven to 425°.

    Empty beef stew into shallow baking dish.

    In mixing bowl, beat egg.

    Add oil, milk and cornmeal; mix thoroughly.
