  • 2 pkg. saltine crackers (original Premium are best)
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. rich milk (half and half)
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • salt and pepper
  • tomato juice

Directions

    Heat the water to boiling.

    Place crackers in a bowl with a tight-fitting lid.

    Add salt and pepper.

    Pour boiling water over the crackers and put on lid.

    Let steam a few minutes.

    Heat the milk and margarine to boiling and also pour this over the crackers.

    Stir and serve in soup bowls.
  8. 8
    Pour tomato juice over the crackers and serve.
