- 1 qt. peeled, cooked tomatoes
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 slices bread, diced and buttered
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- dash of salt and pepper
Directions

1Cook tomatoes and juice, brown sugar, butter, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; thicken with cornstarch (dissolved in 1/4 cup water).

2Bake in shallow baking pan with foil cover about 20 minutes at 350°.

3Remove foil.

4Add crumbs and cheese.

5Return to oven to melt cheese.
