- 12 very ripe tomatoes
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 to 3 c. bread crumbs
- 1/4 lb. butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Skin and core tomatoes and place in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and sugar.

2Top with bread crumbs and dot with butter.

3Bake at 400° for 1 1/2 hours, then remove from oven and place on slow burner on stove.
