  • 2 lb. sirloin steak
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. sherry
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch fresh broccoli
  • 1/2 c. peanut oil
  • 1 medium size green pepper, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c. water
  • hot cooked rice

    Partially freeze steak; slice across grain into 3 x 1/4-inch strips.

    Set aside.

    Combine soy sauce, sherry and garlic; mix well.

    Add steak and marinate 30 minutes.

    Trim off large outer leaves of broccoli and remove tough ends of stalks.

    Wash broccoli thoroughly; cut stalks diagonally into 1-inch pieces.

    If stalks are more than 1 inch in diameter, cut in halves lengthwise. Separate flowerets into small pieces.
