Stollen German Christmas Bread

Ingredients

• 6 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, divided
• 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 3/4 tsp. mace
• 1/8 tsp. cardamom
• 2 pkg. active dry yeast
• 1/2 c. warm water
• 1 c. milk, scalded
• 1 c. sugar
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 3/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted, divided
• 2 eggs, lightly beaten
• 1 c. golden raisins
• 1/2 c. diced mixed candied fruits
• 1/2 c. blanched slivered almonds
