  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Allspice
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1/4 cups Shortening
  • 1/2 cups Butter
  • 1/4 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Black Walnut Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Chopped Walnuts (black Walnuts Are Best If Available)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Mix dry ingredients and set aside.

    With a mixer , cream together the eggs, shortening, butter, buttermilk and extracts. Slowly add dry ingredients to the butter and egg mixture. Add the chopped nuts last.

    Scoop onto a greased cookie sheet, leaving space for cookies to spread. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
