Ingredients

  • 1 qt. pkg. multi kinds beans, covered with water overnight
  • 1 qt. water
  • 3 c. tomato juice
  • chopped ham, ham hocks or Polish sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt, pepper and cayenne

Directions

    Drain beans; put in large kettle.

    Add all.

    Simmer 30 minutes after final addition and serve.

    Good with warm fresh bread!
