  • 1- 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1- 1/2 cups coconut, shredded
  • 3 - 3 ounce strawberry Jell-O, dry
  • 1 - 14 ounce can Eagle Brand Milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Green food coloring
  • 4 ounces slivered almonds
  • 1/3 red sugar
  • 1/4 cup green sugar

    In large bowl mix nuts, coconut and dry Jell-O.

    Add Eagle Brand Milk and vanilla, and work with a wooden spoon until well mixed.

    Cover and chill 1 hour.

    Pour water in small bowl; color green with food coloring.

    Add almonds and color deep green.

    Sift almonds onto paper towel to dry.

    Shape chilled mixture into strawberries (using 1 teaspoon for each), roll in red sugar, and dip ends is green sugar.

    Use the almond sliver for the stems. Makes about 85 candies.

    Store in airtight container or in the refrigerator.
