- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. oatmeal
- 1/3 c. firm butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2/3 c. strawberry jam (other flavors can be substituted)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions

1In a bowl stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and sugar.

2Mix in oatmeal.

3Cut in butter until mixture forms coarse crumbs.

4Beat egg and milk.

5Gradually add egg mixture to flour mixture, mixing until well blended.

6Spread about half of the dough in a greased or nonstick 8-inch pan.

7Spread evenly with jam.

8Drop remaining dough evenly by spoonfuls over jam. Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes.

9Cut into bars while still warm.

10Sift lightly with powdered sugar.
