- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 c. strawberry preserves
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Grease bottom of an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.

3Cream butter, sugar and vanilla and beat until fluffy.

4Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together.

5Combine preserves and buttermilk and add alternately with flour mixture.

6Beat until well blended. Stir in nuts.

7Pour into prepared pan and bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.

8Cool in pan 15 minutes.

9Cool completely.

10Wrap loaf and store overnight in cool place.

11Good served with strawberry butter.
