Preheat oven to 350°. Grease bottoms of 4 (9-inch) round cake pans. Prepare cake according to package directions. Remove from oven and let cool. Place 1 cake layer on a serving plate and frost top only with frosting swirls resembling whipped butter. Add a layer of strawberries. Repeat next 2 layers. Top stack with remaining layer. Pile frosting in center and add strawberries. Drizzle warm caramel topping over the top to resemble syrup.
