  • 5 egg whites
  • 12 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 34 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 12 cup flour
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries or 1 pint frozen strawberries
  • 12 pint whipped cream

    Beat egg whites until frothy.

    add cream of tarter, beat until stiff.

    add powdered sugar, gradually.

    add beaten egg yolks, flour, and vanilla.

    pour into greased jelly roll pan.

    bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.

    place on towel sprinkled with powdered sugar.

    roll in towel and let cool.

    unroll, sprinkle with sliced strawberries over cake.
