  • thin slices sponge or pound cake
  • sweet wine or rich sherry
  • chopped, sweetened, fresh strawberries
  • whipped cream, seasoned with sugar and lemon extract

Directions

    Arrange the cake around the inside of a glass serving dish. Over this, pour the wine or sherry.

    When the cake has soaked up most of the wine, spread with a layer of strawberries.

    Top with whipped cream.
