Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak, cut diagonally into thin strips
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

    Cut steak into 2-inch pieces and brown in butter.

    Add mushrooms.

    Stir in onion soup mix, garlic powder and flour.

    Add milk and water.

    Cook, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.

    Cover and cook on low heat for one hour.

    Stir twice while cooking.

    If desired, blend in 1/2 cup sour cream and 2 tablespoons sherry.

    Heat through.

    Serve over rice or noodles. Makes four servings.
